On April 26, 1970, a parish picnic was sponsored by the Men’s Club at Comanche Park. This event marked the beginning of what would become a cherished tradition for our community. Ever since that memorable day, we have held an annual Parish Festival, bringing together parishioners and the wider community for a day of fun, fellowship, and celebration.
Over the years, the Parish Festival has grown in size and scope, featuring a variety of activities such as games, live music, food stalls, and craft vendors. It has become a highlight of the year, eagerly anticipated by all.
In 2015, the Parish Festival Committee decided to move the festival to our parish property. This decision was made to provide easier access for parishioners and to create a more intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The move proved to be a great success, allowing us to better accommodate the growing number of attendees and to enhance the overall experience.
Since then, the festival has continued to thrive, with each year. The Parish Festival has something for everyone. It remains a testament to the strong sense of community and the enduring spirit of our parish.
In 2020-2021, We could not host the Parish Picnic Festival due to Covid-19 Virus.
In 2022 winter storm, Southeast Texas saw temperatures drop below freezing on five consecutive days, with the lowest temperature hitting 17 degrees. Due to this storm our buildings were in major repair and renovations. We could not host our parish festival until we were complete with repairs.
