Archdiocesan policy sets forth the requirement that the parish Finance Council be made up of at least five to six members.  The council advises the pastor and administrative staff on specific fiscal matters and provides general oversight on parish finances.  Members are appointed by the pastor.  Terms of service on this council are for up to, but no longer than five years.

An important task of the council is helping to plan and approve annual budgets and major expenditures.  Currently because of extensive considerations with all of the upcoming building projects, Finance Council meetings are followed immediately by Building and Planning Committee Meetings.  The two groups meet jointly to review the projects.
